AIYLC brings together high school students for four days of leadership challenges, historic experiences, team competition, new ideas, and opportunities to push beyond their comfort zones.
You don't need a title, a uniform, or previous leadership experience to be a leader. AIYLC gives you the opportunity to develop skills, test yourself, meet new people, and discover strengths you may not know you have.

There’s Time For Fun, Too
AIYLC has a full schedule, but the conference isn't four days of sitting in a classroom. Students have meals together, explore historic sites, participate in team activities, enjoy evening downtime, and have opportunities to get to know one another.
Some of the best parts of AIYLC happen between lessons.
Before You Apply
Who can apply?
10th & 11th grade students.
12th graders are eligble to participate as Senior Mentors if they attended the previous AIYLC.

What does it cost?
$100 is the student tuition. AIYLC may be able to provide financial assistance.

Where do I stay?
You will stay in gender separated cabins provided by the Jamestown 4-H Educational Center. Cabins include beds with mattresses, showers, sinks, and toilets. You will need to bring personal sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, and toiletries. Many students opt for a sleeping bag to meet the bedding requirements.

Small amount of spending money, if desired
You should bring comfortable, appropriate clothing suitable for classroom activities, outdoor activities, and walking tours.

Can I bring my phone?
Yes, but you can only use it outside of classroom lessons.
